Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The Journal of Translational Health & Precision Medicine applies a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer review process to ensure the scientific quality, ethical integrity, and translational relevance of all published articles.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial assessment by the editorial team to determine:

  • Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope

  • Compliance with ethical and reporting requirements

  • Presence of a clear Translational Relevance Statement

  • Overall scientific quality and relevance

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors without external peer review.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, in which:

  • Author identities are concealed from reviewers

  • Reviewer identities are concealed from authors

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise.

Reviewer Selection and Responsibilities

Reviewers are selected based on their academic expertise, research experience, and absence of conflicts of interest. Reviewers are asked to provide objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations addressing:

  • Scientific rigor and methodological quality

  • Originality and significance of the research

  • Ethical compliance and reporting quality

  • Translational relevance and potential real-world impact

Editorial Decision-Making

Editorial decisions are based on reviewer recommendations and the editorial team’s assessment of the manuscript’s quality, ethical compliance, and translational relevance.

Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accept

  • Minor revisions

  • Major revisions

  • Reject

Authors are informed of decisions through the journal’s online system and are provided with anonymized reviewer feedback.

Confidentiality and Ethics

All manuscripts and reviewer reports are treated as confidential. Reviewers and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves where appropriate.

The peer review process adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and integrity throughout the evaluation process.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors may appeal editorial decisions or raise concerns regarding the peer review process by contacting the editorial office through the journal website. Appeals are handled in accordance with the journal’s ethical and governance policies.
